My skin is very light reflecting so the slight metallic nature is infinity more flattering on me than Auric which can come off as subtle even after attempting to build up multiple layers. Neither are "bad products" but I vastly prefer the Charlotte Tilbury product over the Auric for the formula alone. As a liquid highlighter this leans more in a subtle glow than a shine. The reflection is also pretty neutral but it does lean slightly sliver in my experience. The reformulated morganite has a very pale true neutral base. There is no sparkles but also no linear shine. The shimmer particles are also very finely milled but the base of the formula gives a more subtle dispersed finish. Once blended out it remains slightly tacky and almost has a grippy texture. It goes on thicker too and I would describe it as a semi setting formula. As solely a liquid highlighter it is more in line with an actual highlighter than a subtle lit from within glow as the product is actively shiny.Īuric is a little thicker formula wise and feels more like a whipped or cream formula. Fair 2 is extremely peachy but still has a silver reflect. Fair 1 is very pink with a silver reflect. The base is pigmented enough to offer some kind of correction but sheer enough to let your skin shine through. Shade range wise the tones/ undertones in CT are heavily skewed towards very pale people. It all depends on the natural light reflection of your skin. This result can look off and pore enhancing or really natural and glowy. It's shine particles are very finely milled and gives of an almost linear reflection which makes the product appear more metallic. For targeted application as highlighter it still doesn't dry down fully but I don't have the "heaviness" issue. It does go on very thinly but it can feel slightly heavy if I use it as a base or as a tinted moisturizer as it doesn't really dry down. I own both: Auric Glowlust in the Reformulated Morganite Shade and Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter in Shade 2.įormula wise I find them pretty different.ĬT has a very smooth emollient formula.

Wellness - A maximum of four activity courses (100 level, 1/4 unit) in wellness may be used toward completing the 32 units required for graduation. Music Ensembles and Dance - A maximum of two units of credit for participation in music ensembles (instrumental and vocal) or dance studio courses may be applied toward completing the 32 units required for graduation. Further information appears in the Academic Programs section and in the Programs of Study section. Students also have the option to declare a minor. (A language major in the Foreign Languages Department means that no more than 10 units are required in the specific language declared as the major.) Further information on interdepartmental and departmental majors may be found in the Programs of Study section of this catalog, while the individually designed major is described in the Academics at Albion section. No more than 16 units in any one department may be counted toward graduation. The maximum number of units required for a departmental major is 10 units in that department and an additional four units in other departments. Students may fulfill the major requirement in one of three ways: departmental major, interdepartmental major and individually designed major. Although students may declare a major as early as the freshman year, this is generally done during the sophomore year. Majors and Minors - Students must declare at least one major but no more than two majors prior to graduation. Writing Proficiency Requirement - Students must pass the Writing Proficiency Requirement to graduate. Graduating students (2006 and after) earning a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher qualify for graduation recognition as described under the Academic Honors and Activities section.Ĭore Requirement - Graduating students must have completed the core requirement. A department also may require additional demonstration of competence (minimum course grade requirements, comprehensive examination, senior recital or the like) to complete a major. Students should note that to earn the designation of a second major, a 2.0 grade point average also must be achieved in that major. A minimum 2.0 grade point average in one major field is also required for graduation. Grade Point Average - To qualify for the bachelor of arts degree, a student must have a 2.0 grade point average in all course work. If students have not completed graduation requirements within eight graded semesters, they must petition the Committee on Academic Status and Petitions for permission to continue enrollment for each additional semester needed to complete requirements. Normally students complete degree requirements within eight semesters. There are limits on the number of wellness activity courses, music ensembles and internships that may count toward graduation. Included in the total are the core requirement described earlier, courses leading to the major(s) and minor(s), and elective courses which make up one-half to one-third of each student’s total courses. An Albion unit is equivalent to four semester hours. Minimum Units - Students must complete a minimum of 32 units (128 semester hours) of course work to graduate. The degree of bachelor of arts (B.A.) is conferred upon students who have met all of the following requirements for graduation: Students generally graduate after eight semesters. A student graduates from Albion College after meeting a series of requirements including course work, satisfactory grade point average, a major, residency and others as outlined under specific degree requirements stated below. How will it compare to the newest devices on the market? Find out today with Geekbench 6. These benchmarks should be taken into consideration with caution as no MacBook Air reviews are out yet. There are also other benchmarks available for the MacBook Air on the official Geekbench Website. We can extrapolate the benchmarks of this MacBook Air and expect an improvement in the performance of the M1 when it is put in a laptop with an Active-Cooling setup like the MacBook Pro. However, 16-inch models with dedicated graphics cards are expected to be faster than Apple’s integrated graphics. Important note: MacBook Air does not have a fan. The leaked benchmarks show MacBook Air with M1 beating all other intel based notebooks from Apple. According to the Geekbench Browser, the M1 chip is clocked at 3.2 GHz at base frequency and has 4.00 MB L2 cache. Multi-core performance shows a result of 7433, which beats out the intel core i9 in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Single core score shows a result of 1687, highest single core score of all time on Geekbench browser, even beating the $50,000 Mac Pro. The alleged benchmarks for MacBook Air with Apple M1 claims to be from MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM. The alleged benchmark made it to official Geekbench website. However, a leaked benchmark apparently from the MacBook Air puts all speculation to rest. Premature benchmarks show the chip beating intel’s highest-end i9 processor found in the MacBook Pro 16-inch.Īpple claimed the M1’s high-power cores are the most powerful among all processors in the industry, but customers may have taken this with a grain of salt since all Apple showed were vague graphs and performance metrics. Since then, the Geekbench results for the M1 chip in a MacBook Air has leaked. With claims of upto 5x graphical performance of the older intel chip and up to 3.5x performance, M1 chip promised big performance improvements over the previous models. Apple during their “One More Thing” event on Tuesday announced their custom designed, Mac-specific M1 chipset. As craftsmen and artists we generally spend 360 days of the year in solitary confinement and then get in community for five days. It’s great to see everyone in one place surrounded by the art. Not only do we get to push ourselves to our limits, but we get to expose the industry to the work being done at the highest level. It’s our greatest medium and the greatest place for education. If you bring a show that represents your discipline and pushes your limits and the limits of the industry, we’re fulfilling the mission of the TCAA: to preserve and promote the skills of saddlemaking, bit and spur making, silversmithing, and rawhide braiding and the role of these traditional crafts in the cowboy culture of the North American West.Ĭ&I: What role does the Cowboy Crossings show play in the overall mission of the TCAA?Ĭapron: Cowboy Crossings is the heartbeat of our organization. I like to say the TCAA has one small obligation: Bring the best three pieces you’ve ever made in your life each and every year. As soon as I’m done with the work for one show, I’m already thinking about how I’m going to do better the following year. I spend four to six months of the year doing work devoted to the TCAA show. The first week of August is usually the deadline. Wilson Capron: I have a small anxiety problem that I won’t meet next year’s deadline of August 1. We caught up with TCAA president and bit and spur maker Wilson Capron to talk about the 20th anniversary of the TCAA, the work he’ll be showing at Cowboy Crossings, and what he’s looking forward to about the show.Ĭowboys & Indians: What have you been working on for the Cowboy Crossings show? At least by then I'd know for sure whether I was missing out on a great portable Injustice experience. Hmmmm.if worst comes to worst, I'll just trade/sell back the Vita to get a partial refund and get a ps3 or 360 for console play. An online friend told me that I could set up a psn account without even having a sony gaming system of any kind! O_O so I guess I could try setting up a psn account before I even buy the Vita? LOL.that's pretty cool! If for some reason the Vita wouldn't accept a pre-established psn account, I guess I could create a new one (maybe need a dif cc or something). I don't know much about computers (probably obvious lol) and hackers and such, but I'm not too worried about someone hacking my Vita at work, should I get one. So the only issue would be how safe it is to create a psn account over unsecured wifi. I'm not sure about NR's overall tech skills (I'm not very familiar with the company or MK games over the years) and what the overall limitations of the Vita are, but hopefully more bug fixes or any necessary balance patches can be added in the future. I'm not especially picky cos it looked fine to me, and at least one person uploaded with a card and that did make a difference in his vid quality I want to encourage ppl to try it but still be honest about issues (like poor ol' MMH!). I don't have a capture card, though, so I'll want to point that out to anyone who's skeptical about the graphics. If I get the Vita soon, I'll let everybody know on here, and I'm gonna try to upload vids of gameplay for anyone on YT that's curious like I am about how it looks and plays. Just be aware that the frame rate drops are real, and they will hinder your gameplay depending on what stage you use.Ĭlick to expand.Awesome! Thanks for the input I guess we just have to find ways to build up the community. If you have $260 dollars to spend right now do it. I personally don't trust that, but knock yourself out. The only issue I see with opening an account on a publice wifi is opening an account on a public wifi lol. I can really only play when I invite people from here on TYM. The one you start off with is what you have to use unless you format your memory card, and start over. You can't switch accounts on the vita though. It's not difficult to connect the vita to Wifi, or set up a PSN account. You really have to worry more about frame rate drops. If you can deal with only playing on 3-4 stages than I say go for it. Some of the stages have too much going on in the background. The issue with Injustice on the Vita is that is has severe frame rate drops. I'm dying to play nerfed Supes and many other characters against skilled players! If so, did it take a long time? Was it possible to determine if of any of the opponents were local, and if that made a difference for having online matches with little to no lag? Maybe I just need to wait until more ppl get the Vita version in in the U.S. I also was wondering if anyone was actually able to find a few online opponents. My town also has free wifi on the streets with a strong signal! I just have to check the 'agreement' box. I also don't have a wireless router at home and would prefer to save money by using the free wifi at my job and it doesn't even have a password requirement (wep/wpa key?). I've done a lot of online research and I'm considering buying a Vita just for Injustice but I'm afraid that I'll encounter pitfalls if it's not as fast and easy to connect to wifi as it is with an ios device (I have an ipod touch and connecting was basically automatic). I heard it was great for MK9 from multiple reviewers.Īlso, maybe someone could tell me a little about how easy it should be to create a psn vita account and set up wifi on the vita for the first time by using a free public wifi hotspot. This is sort of a tech thread, and I hope I'm asking in the right place, but I've never played an online game before (other than 1 pc game on a friend's computer), and I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion about using public wifi for online multiplayer. “If a guy says, well my sense of being a man means that I can’t disclose any vulnerabilities, because that will make me look weak, if something does come up, what do I do with that? I have to keep it to myself,” says John Oliffe, founder and lead investigator of the Men’s Health Research program at UBC. Studies show that in the year before they killed themselves, only 35 percent of men saw a mental-health practitioner, while 58 percent of women did. That can result in their feelings building up without an escape valve – either a personal one, through talking with friends and family, or a professional one, through therapy or other mental health services – and can escalate to a crisis point. There’s evidence that men who adhere more strongly to masculine ideals see getting psychological help more negatively. So what distinguishes those who do from those who don’t? But not everyone with mental illness kills themselves. “Ninety percent of people who die by suicide are experiencing some sort of mental illness or addiction, most often depression,” says Ed Mantler, vice president of programs and priorities at the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Having mental health issues is a major predictor for suicide – almost everyone who dies from suicide has an underlying mental health problem. Is masculinity getting in the way of getting help? Or it might be that, as some researchers have suggested, they’re choosing more extreme methods because they’re more suicidal in the first place. These differences might be because men are more comfortable with guns. Men are more likely to use firearms and other deadly methods, while women are more likely to use pills. That’s mainly due to two things: “One is that men use more lethal means, and the second is that they don’t seek care as much,” says Simon Hatcher, vice-chair of research for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. That’s a pattern that holds true across Canada, and in most of the rest of the world as well. Women are actually more likely to try to kill themselves – three to four times more likely. Many of these are partially funded by the Movember Foundation, a men’s health organization, which has highlighted male suicide as one of its key areas of investment. That’s starting to happen, with websites like HeadsUpMen and groups like Men’s Sheds, which offer a space and tools where men can gather to work on projects and make connections. That’s why many argue that suicide prevention programs should recognize that men are a high risk group and tailor messaging and programming to them. Three times as many Canadian men kill themselves every year than women do – in Ontario, that means more men are dying from suicide than from car accidents. Suicide is often thought of as a gender-neutral issue, but in reality, it’s a problem that affects men far more than women. You hear the same story, and it’s my story too.” “We have 11 story videos and a whole bunch of blogs on the site, and basically every time it’s they didn’t talk about their emotions with anybody, they wanted to figure it out on their own. that I probably never asked for help because of those male stereotypes,” he says. “Before, I never even thought of mental health in terms of what it means to be a man. The experience has changed his perspective on why he didn’t feel comfortable asking for professional help earlier. He now works for HeadsUpGuys, a website based out of the University of British Columbia that focuses on men and mental illness. “It was only when I was obviously really sick and ill that I reached out, because I couldn’t pretend anymore.” “I basically never talked about my emotions with anybody I felt like I wanted to figure things out on my own,” he says. But he wonders what would have happened if he’d reached out for help earlier, before his depression worsened. Adrenaline and instinct led him to swim to a nearby platform, where he was soon picked up by emergency services – his brother had received his text and called 911. “I had lost all sight of ever getting better, and of anything enjoyable I’d ever done,” he says.ĭespite breaking six ribs and puncturing a lung, he woke up in the water. He had been severely depressed for months, and the counselling that he was receiving and medication he was on wasn’t helping much.
